Privacy Policy

The short version

  • Your lists, meals, rooms and settings are saved on your own phone. There are no accounts, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • When you use the helper, what you ask (like a dish name) goes to our server and to Anthropic, the company that makes Claude, so it can write the answer.
  • We count visits and helper questions as daily totals to keep the app running well. No ads, no cookies, no tracking on other sites, and we never sell your information.
  • The app is made for families. Kids under 13 should use it with a parent’s OK.

1. Who we are

Cart & Broom™ (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a product of ANGEL TECH™. It is operated by Angel Tech Corporation Industries L.L.C., an Oklahoma limited liability company, under a license from Angel Tech Corporation Holding L.C. This policy explains what information the app uses, why it uses it, and the choices you have. It covers the Cart & Broom website and the version you add to your home screen.

2. What stays on your phone

The app saves these in your browser’s storage on your own device:

None of this leaves your phone unless you use one of the features in section 3. We cannot see it, and we cannot get it back if it is lost. To delete it, clear this site’s data in your browser settings (and remove the app from your home screen if you added it).

3. What we receive, and why

The helper

When you tap a helper button, the app sends what the helper needs to answer: for example a meal name, how many servings, the ingredients or idea you typed, a room or task, or the pep-talk style you picked. It also sends the app’s random device number, which we use only to count how many helper questions that phone has used today. Please do not type personal details (like names, addresses or health information) into the helper.

Your internet connection

Like every website, our server sees your IP address when your phone connects. We do not store it. We turn it into a scrambled code that changes every day and use that code to count free helper questions and Plus code tries per connection. Those counts are deleted when the day ends.

Visit counts

When the app opens, it tells our server: that it opened, which tab it opened on, whether it was opened from the home screen, what kind of device it is (phone, tablet or computer, worked out from your browser’s standard “user agent” information), the name of the website that sent you there, if any (like google.com), and your country (which our host works out from your IP address). It also counts which tabs you switch to, and the legal pages count a view when they open. We add all of this to daily totals. To count how many different phones visited each day without keeping a list of them, we keep a scrambled code of the device number for that day only and delete it the next day. We keep the daily totals for 90 days. They do not identify anyone.

Cooking steps we save

To make cooking steps fast and free, we save the steps for a dish the first time anyone asks, and show the same steps to anyone who later asks for the same dish and number of servings. The saved copy includes the request (like the dish name) but not who asked.

Plus

If you enter a Plus code, we keep a scrambled version of the code together with the random device numbers it has been turned on for (up to 5), so one code cannot be shared with the whole internet. We keep this while the code is active.

Payments

If you buy Plus, the payment happens on a page run by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe may share basic order details with us (such as the email address you gave and what you bought) so we can help with your purchase.

When you write to us

If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

4. Companies that help us run the app

We use a few service providers. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of anyone, or as part of a sale or merger of the app, in which case this policy keeps applying to it.

We do not sell your personal information or “share” it for advertising (as California law uses those words), and we do not show ads.

5. Cookies and tracking

The app does not use cookies, advertising trackers, or outside analytics services. It uses your browser’s storage to save your things (section 2), and the visit counts described in section 3. It also keeps a copy of its own files on your device so your list still opens in the store with no signal.

6. Children and teens

Cart & Broom is made for families, including kids and teens. We do not ask anyone for a name, email address, phone number, photo or location to use the app. There are no accounts, no chat with other people, and nothing is posted publicly. The only identifier we use is the app’s random device number, and only to run the app (daily limits and visit counts), never for advertising or profiles.

Children under 13 should use the app with a parent or guardian’s permission, and only a parent or guardian should buy Plus. The helper is set up to talk only about food, groceries, cooking and cleaning. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. How long we keep things

8. Your choices and rights

For people in the EU and UK, our legal reasons for using information are: to provide the app you asked to use (contract); to keep it safe, fair and affordable, for example daily limits, stopping abuse and counting visits (legitimate interests); and to meet legal duties.

9. Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, a strict content security policy, signed Plus and admin passes, daily limits, and we keep secret keys out of the app’s code. No system is perfect, so please do not type sensitive information into the helper.

10. Where information is processed

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws from where you live. When we do, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for international transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also let you know in the app.
